Lego

The Joy Of Lego

Brief History

The company was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen. The name Lego is taken from the Danish words Leg Godt which translates in English to Play Well. Originally the bricks were made of wood and used to stack in creating structures. In Denmark in 1947 production of plastic interlocking bricks began and this is the Lego we know today. Lego expanded to have factories all over the world. As the fascination and demand for Lego grew the company turned its attention to another area of marketing, Legoland Amusement Parks. Each park showcases models made from Lego bricks representing land marks and cities. They also have Lego themed rides you can enjoy. In 2015 Lego had become the worlds largest toy company.
