From 1985 onwards Phil’s career expanded he became the director of The Photographic School at Hendry House. In Bath he ran various photography courses. By 1999 Phil had moved to France to pursue his art creating drawings, paintings and sculptures. Some of the art work being displayed in various galleries in Southern France. Phil Monk Art Work.
Summer Pool Party
Phil Monk created some amazing exhibition art work. Some were based on his time spent in France with the Mediterranean scenery and incorporated the fantastic bright colours associated with the landscape. Here at Wildcard we have one of these amazing exhibition pieces of art that reflect the French atmosphere. The art work is called Summer Pool Party. The ripples over the people who stand out slightly on the art work really show a diversity providing true representation of the swimming experience.
Falling Angel
Another fantastic exhibition art work Wildcard have is a piece called Falling Angel. Unfortunately we are unsure what inspired Phil to create such a unique piece. This is a mix of materials with paint and wax. Personally we love this and feel it can be interpreted however the viewer wishes.
Line Drawing
Recently Wildcard sold a Phil Monk line drawing (featured on the main image for this blog). It was so simple but so inviting to see a different take on line drawing. Some what erotic it shows a very elegant woman in all her beauty.
