I am slightly addicted to a good coffee. The smell, the feel, and making sure you get a good grind.
That is why i like manual grinders. they are great for getting it exactly to your taste, coffee machine or cafetiere, or whatever brewing device you want.
This one was made by the Spong & Co. firm. Ltd.
This firm was founded in 1856 in England by James Old Spong, who was then 16 years old.
In the early years, they made other types of products.
They started making coffee grinders in 1895.
This one, however is from the 1950’s. The Model No.80.
Designed by the great Robert Welch, this grinder really looks the part.
It is made out of Cast Iron and pretty indistructable.

After Restoration this one went to a Private Collector in Japan.
